Too much of adrenaline has kept me active and hyper even till late night. I am starting to behave like a Jack Russell haha! So many things underway and am feeling so hyped up. One of which is the e-business that i mentioned earlier. I am SOoo right in taking my current degree. It's like putting what i am learning in Marketing now into practice. My brain juices are churning up amazing ideas (*faints*), they are incredibly ingenious! Really praise God for the wonderful inspirations! Hey, make sure you guys support me when it starts operating k. *beams.. hugs*

Oh wells my CG is doing on "I Kiss Dating Goodbye". Doing this for the second time, but this time it hit me all the more stronger. It's truly a fantastic guide for dating relationship. My only regret is not having safe-lock all these lessons there and then. If only i have, that will save me lots of heartaches and tears. Still on the same spiritual note, this week has been a good week with increasing awareness of God working in and through the dark areas of my life. It's lovely to be sensitive to the Spirit's prompting, and acting accordingly. *smile* As the familiar children song goes,
"Jesus loves me this i know, for the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belongs, they are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so."

(PS: this song does not depict wad my heart says)
On the flip side, therein lies a totally different emotional side of me. It's exactly 1 month and 1 week. Certainly, i am happier, stronger and more independent than ever. That's bad news to you guys cos it simply means that i can do just as well without you. Why am i not in a hurry to get attached? Cos after all these, i believe in waiting. Seriously. I can't be more serious than that. If you are thinking she must be bullshitting, then banish that thought immediately. I have learnt not to settle for anything less than God's best. (Chew on it, folks.) Humanly speaking, there are misses, reminisces, and reminders whenever i visit a place filled with our footprints. On one occasion, i stopped by at the opposite of Orchard Towers and tears just welled up uncontrollably. Mixed feelings never failed to surface each time i walked past it. Perhaps it's the rich story behind it. Well, life is just so peculiar. With every turning, you don't know what to expect. Yet, I am hopeful and i am looking forward to it everyday. Simply because Jesus loves me. That's more than reason to move on and i say REJOICE!

Am i fearful of yet another relationship? Hell no! I am just so assured that all are safe and perfect in His mighty hands. Yayness! Oh yess, YAYNESS!!!

Jesus Overpaid The Debt You Could Not Pay

Saturday, November 17, 2007

Hebrews 10:22

22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

I’d like you to imagine this scenario: You borrow a huge sum of money from a friend and promise to pay him back in six months’ time. When the time comes, you feel really bad because you cannot repay him as you don’t have the money. A year rolls by without you repaying your friend. Now, you feel extremely guilty. You try to avoid your friend because you are too embarrassed and ashamed to see him.

Let’s say your best friend hears about your plight. Of his own free will, he goes to your creditor and says, “Look, I understand that my best friend owes you money.”

“Yes, $50,000.”

“Here is $100,000. I’m paying you on his behalf.”

The creditor protests, “No, no, no! He owes me only $50,000.”

Your best friend says, “I know that he owes you that amount. But take the $100,000 so that you can never say that he still owes you that debt.”

Now, your debt has already been paid. But if you don’t believe that it has been paid, that debt will still be on your conscience. You will still be afraid to see your creditor. And you will try to avoid him all the time because each time you see him, he reminds you of your debt.

In the same manner, Jesus was an over-payment when He offered Himself as your sin offering because of the quality and worth of the Man Himself. He actually overpaid for your sins when He became your sacrifice on the cross.

Now, if you don’t believe that the payment has been made, you’ll suffer because your unbelief will rob you of assurance, joy and peace. You will still have debt on your conscience. Even though the Lord doesn’t impute sin to you (Romans 4:8), sin is still on your conscience.

And as long as sin is on your conscience, you won’t dare to draw near to God. But the truth of the matter is that your sins have been paid for! And Jesus is an over-payment! Today, my friend, draw near to God with no sin on your conscience!

Oh boy!! I can't believe disc-catching can be so fun!! Apart from all that fun is shoes filled with MUD!!! Argghhhh.. Disgusting. Wells, isn't ultimate frisbee all about running around freely and trying to catch the disc?? Tell me about human stacking and more strategies! I feel like I am at war. Though said, i had tonnes of fun running in circles, feeling confused majority of the time, figuring out what kinda formidable strategy they are training us for. Hmm looks like I am in for more fun next Thursday.. Wheeee.... =)

Rest And Receive Your Miracle

Hebrews 4:9
9
There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

In the healing of the paralysed man at the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–16), Jesus knew that for 38 years, the man had been flat on his back, unable to do anything for himself or others, no matter how hard he struggled.

In the case of the woman oppressed with a spirit of infirmity (Luke 13:10–13), Jesus knew that the woman had been bowed over for 18 years. And in that condition, she saw very little that was beautiful in life, only dusty grounds, dirty sandals and bruised feet.

What about the man with a withered hand? (Luke 6:6–10) Jesus knew from His carpenter days how a useless hand could have easily given the man a very poor sense of self-worth.

I believe that all three of them must have struggled for so long to get back on their feet, to try to lift themselves up, to attempt to do something about their situations, only to be disappointed each time they failed. In fact, they got so frustrated with striving to get better that by the time they met Jesus, they were no longer doing anything about their situations.

It was then that Jesus extended His offer to turn their situations around. And when they embraced His offer, they received the miracles that they had sought for so long.

You too may have been struggling to get back on your two feet, or lift yourself up from the burdens and problems that have sorely weighed you down. You have attempted to do whatever you could, hoping that it would amount to something, but you have been frustrated time and again. My friend, God wants you to cease from all your struggling and accept the offer He extends — turn your situations around.

It is no coincidence that all three of them received their miracles on the Sabbath, the day of rest in the Jewish calendar. God’s Word says, “There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.” The day you cease from your own labouring and striving, and rest in the finished work of Christ, is the day you receive your miracle.

Jesus has done all the work. Whatever you need has been provided for at the cross. So just rest and receive your miracle!

Just had my notes packed nicely into their respectively files. Nonetheless, it threw me out into the open truth that i have tonnes of readings undone. That is probably like what you see below. Oh boy, consequences of taking 3 qualitative modules this sem. With God, all things are possible! =)

Bethia speaks the truth in love @ 12:25 PM

God Can Qualify The Disqualified

Psalm 103:4
4
who [the Lord] redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies…

Four women are mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus. (Matthew 1:1–16) Interestingly, they are not Sarah, Rebekah, Leah or Rachel, wives of the patriarchs of the Old Testament. Instead, they are Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba, women who had morally questionable backgrounds.

Tamar resorted to deception and prostitution to produce children through her father-in-law. Yet, it was from her line, the tribe of Judah, that the Messiah came. (Genesis 38)

Rahab was a Gentile and a prostitute in Jericho, who became a believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (Joshua 2:1–21) She also became the mother of Boaz, who married Ruth. (Ruth 4:13)

Ruth was a morally upright woman. But as a Moabitess, she was a Gentile and therefore considered unclean. Yet, this Gentile woman became the grandmother of David (Ruth 4:13–17), whom the Jews regard as their greatest king.

Bathsheba committed adultery with David. (2 Samuel 11:4) Later, she gave birth to King Solomon (2 Samuel 12:24), from whose royal line Jesus is descended.

So what is God saying to us here?

He is saying that He is greater than our sins — where sin abounds, His grace abounds much more. (Romans 5:20) Grace is greater than our sins, so that even when the world disqualifies us, God can qualify us to receive His blessings!

God is also saying that He is a God of many chances. These women’s stories show us that even when our troubles are the result of our own making, they are neither final nor fatal. For when we turn to Him, He can turn our situations around until we see His glory upon us!

Finally, God is saying that He is a God of supernatural positioning. Even when all our earthly connections are gone, the moment we turn to Him, He will find ways to turn our captivity into blessings. As shown in Ruth’s life, He can put us at the right place at the right time for that door of blessings to be opened to us!

My friend, don’t look at your natural background or circumstances and be discouraged. Trust the One “who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies”!

Yayness!!

Tuesday, November 13, 2007

Disclaimer: This is an entry of pure indulgence. One that might cause you to salivate uncontrollably, and jaw drop in astonishment!

It's really time for more yummy food and clothes! =) Quoting from Ziwan, "Yayness!"

Looking for alternative Jap food? Ma Maison is such a place that you wouldn't wanna miss. When Jap meets west, that's the concept they adopt. The perfect morphosis of these 2 genre of food. Bon appétit!

Egg omelette butter-rice w beef. Splendid!

Beef steak in special brown sauce. The beef patty is so succulent. How i wish they can use this for burgers. Then, that will be my daily bread! haha =)

Totally wiped out! Haha ate like a tornado!! *Rub tummy, grins * PS: the service there is really excellent!! 2 thumbs-up!

A cup of coffee to end it off. Food for thought, a rather small coffee joint. A little walk away from Bugis Junction. It's run by some youngsters who provide good service and pretty smiles. Good for coffee small talks in a totally undisturbed ambience.

Still in that yayness mood.. Friend E just came back from Bangkok!! haha so kind of my friend to help me grab so many clothes!!! YAYNESS!!!!!!! Haha i can open my own boutique soon! My goodness, you guys can't believe how cheap it is and yet how stylo it can get! Looks like i have gotta make a trip down personally!

Hmm talking with E abt stuff and we were discussing on setting up an e-shopping biz. Yup everyone's into it i know.. But then, i wouldn't mind shopping round the clock, making myself and the others look good and feel good about themselves. More so, the smile and happiness that people derive from a satisfying is priceless. Still in the midst of discussion, you guys will be the first to know if it really kicks off k. *Enterprising Little Miss Giggles*

Probably things will be very perfect and happy if that's all that happened throughout the day. BUT someone just gotta spoil it. Hmm something not so pleasant happened before all these happy happenings. This irritating Ngee Ann girl came over to my sch to have lunch. I seriously didn't know what got into her mind when she decided to reserve a whole row of seats in the canteen (hello that's a 18 seater can! With no exaggeration, i counted it!) All you guys who been to the stinky canteen will know how packed it can be during peak hours. So there we have an inconsiderate person, reserving seats for her friends who were no where in sight for the past 5 minutes that i was there. Many who had bought food but with no seats were being turned away. This really got me burning mad with anger. Like what on earth, peak hour and 10 minutes lunch break, yet you wanna be anal!!! So like i said, don't mess with me. Got me so pissed that i scolded her. She wasn't the least bit sorry about it, darned ya-ya can!!! So i raised my voice at her! (kunquan, she got it way worse than you.=p) By now, people are watching but who cares! With no reservation, i put down my stuff and get my food. Meanwhile, some guys came along and argued with her over the seats as well. True enough, her loser guy friends came. But it was a pathetic trickling of them. 6 in total?!! Get a life!!!! Book so many seats for just this few friends of yours? Pathetic. Yup we had our food and left in disbelief at how ugly Singaporean can get. She probably hit the right nerves ytd to cause such an explosion. That's probably not a very good testimony to share, but the next time you decided to do something similar, think twice. This world is more than just you.

Pirates of the Caribbean

A glimpse of what i have been up to-nothing but fun and sleepless night! Really wanna thank my lovely study buddy for roping me into this wonderful event which sure makes it memorable. No doubt preparation was a tough nut to crack. Doesn't help when we experience thunderstorm in the middle of the night amidst the preparation. Gosh, that was indeed chilly and i felt my organs trembled in sheer coldness. Stranded, freezing, little garments. But thankfully, Ziwan was there to lend some warmth. Love you babe!! i was rather amazed by this chilli padi. Haha so used to calling her bimbo and what nonsense have you.. But this babe can really command pple ard man! *Salute* Truly, i like the way you lead and manage pple and stuff which is why i stopped calling you bimbo hahaha. Ta-dah* There you go. I'll never forget the night where we spent at the pavilion and on the stage as well. I believe we will still be reminiscing this flavourful tale many years to come. =) Rock on babe! You are the man!

Oh yes, we didn't forget to take pictures while we were stuck at the pavilion =)

Actual day of event

Lotsa fun bouncing on the inflatable coconut tree area. Hmm can be very tiring when you are to bounce continuously for hours can! Enough said, fun is merely an understatement.

One Little Stone

Thursday, November 08, 2007

Christ has been made unto you wisdom from God! You have the mind of Christ! Fear not, for I have redeemed you.
I have called you by your name; you are Mine.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And through the rivers of difficulty, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire of oppression, you shall not be burned; nor shall the flames scorch you...
You are precious to Me. You have been honored, and I have loved you...

Fear not, for I am with you. (Isaiah 43) Remember that God wants to always point to you as an example of the incredible wealth of His grace and kindness towards! Be blessed in your studies. God is with you!

How much do you think you studied?

I don't know. Not a lot.

If you can size it up, how big do you think your studying is?

I'd say about this much. *extends the thumb and the pinky forming the 'call me' sign*

No, I think smaller. About this size. *arches the thumb and the pointing finger to form a 'C' the size of a tennis ball*

Eh, I think like this only. *makes a pinch the size of a small stone*

Yeah, that's how little, I guess.

That little stone is enough to defeat the giant.

David i think took five stones in his hand but With only one little stones he defeated the giant...

Sometimes it is really not important what we hold in our hands...

stones(David would wish for a M16) or even nothings.. cos when the throwing was done in faith... the giant FALLS!!!

Typical Wednesday

Lawrence and a "mysterious" lady's bag.. Wonder whose bag that belongs to ya.. *Giggles*

Dessert @ Menotti. We went there a little too late. Miss the fantabulous double choco cheesecake. Nonetheless, the choco-peppermint ice cream with Espresso and fellowship were equally awesome!

Kinda realised that my Wednesdays have rather been like a routine. It's always a double lecture day and chilling out with school buddies after that. It takes me awhile to realise that actually routine is good.

My days have been really peaceful and calm. I am almost ready to proclaim victory till that glimpse weakened me and i realised that i have failed miserably again. A glance that kill. I will never forget that. How potentially hazardous. When will i ever be smiling from deep down bottom of my heart? Really searching deep deep into my soul and spirit for the answer. My life is encircled around my Saviour King-Jesus.

Through The Eyes Of Rapist

Wednesday, November 07, 2007

A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interviewed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:

1) The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun, braid or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed . They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair . Women with short hair are not common targets.

2) The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who's clothing is easy to remove quickly . Many of them carry scissors around specifically to cut clothing.

3) They also look for women on their cell phone , searching through their purse, or doing other activities while walking because they are off-guard and can be easily overpowered.

4) Men are most likely to attack & rape in the early morning, between 5:00a.m. and 8:30a.m.

5) The number one place women are abducted from/attacked is grocery store parking lots . Number two: is office parking lots/garages. Number three: is public restrooms.

6) The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to another location where they don't have to worry about getting caught.

7) Only 2% said they carried weapons because rape carries a 3-5 year sentence but rape with a weapon is 15-20 years.

8) If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn't worth it because it will be time-consuming.

9) These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas , or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands.

Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you're not worth it.

10) Several defense mechanisms he taught us are: If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question, like what time is it, or make general small talk: 'I can't believe it is so cold out here,' 'we're in for a bad winter.' Now you've seen their face and could identify them in a line-up; you lose appeal as a target.

11) If someone is coming toward you , hold out your hands in front of you and yell STOP or STAY BACK ! Most of the rapists this man talked to said they'd leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back .
Again, they are looking for an EASY target.

12) If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes) , yell I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.

13) If someone grabs you , you can't beat them with strength but you can by outsmarting them If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the
arm (between the elbow and armpit) OR in the upper inner thigh VERY VERY HARD . One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands - the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it - it hurts.

14) After the initial hit, always GO for the GROIN. I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy's parts it is extremely painful . You might think that you'll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble and he's out of there.

15) When the guy puts his hands up to you , grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible . The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.

16) Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings, take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don't dismiss it, go with your instincts!!!

You may feel a little silly at the time, but you'd feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.

1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do : The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!

2.Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans . If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM . Toss it away from you....chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!

3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.

4.Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.) DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.

a. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.

5. A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot or parking garage:

A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat.

B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.

C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.

IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)

6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)

7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times. And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, preferably in a zigzag pattern!

8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP! It may get you raped or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well-educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle, which is when he abducted his next victim.

9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.'

The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it , but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.

Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby ----This
should be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana.

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know. It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle. I was going to send this to the ladies only, but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc., you may want to pass it onto them, as well.

How Much Land Does A Man Need?

Tuesday, November 06, 2007

StompAIDS week in school. It means they are gonna sell my fav ice cream yogurt! Ehh.. we kinda spotted this HOT pink condom ad!! It's seriously pink!!

Into the reading mood again.. I tried looking for more of Leo Tolstoy's short stories after what Pastor Kenny shared last week. Wow, indeed it's a marvelous read =)

How Much Land Does a Man Need? (Russian: Много ли человеку земли нужно?, Mnogo li cheloveku zemli nuzhno) is an 1886 short story by Leo Tolstoy about a man who, in his lust for land, forfeits everything, including his own life. Late in life, James Joyce called it the greatest short story ever written.

After slowly accumulating more and more property, a greedy Russian named Pahom hears that the Bashkirs, a minority race in Russia, are practically giving their land away. He decides to visit them and they offer him as much land as he wants, provided he can walk its perimeter in one day. Pahom agrees and goes out on his trek, but when the sun starts to set, he finds he has walked too far. Running back, Pahom collapses at the starting point just as the sun disappears behind the horizon. The Bashkirs try to congratulate him, only to find him dead. In answer to the question posed in the title, the Bashkirs bury him in a hole six feet long by two feet wide.

Anton Chekhov, one of Tolstoy's greatest admirers, retorted: "It is a common saying that a man needs only six feet of earth. But six feet is what a corpse needs, not a man... Man needs not six feet of earth, not a farm, but the whole globe, all of nature, where unhindered he can display all the capacities and peculiarities of his free spirit."
